Community is commonplace here at Liberty Skate. For those of you who have followed Liberty Skate for a while, you know that we love to get as much feedback and community involvement from our visitors as possible. We’re constantly thirsty for feedback so we can make our company better.

Beyond just making our company better, we’re conscious that it’s our obligation to make our planet better as well. Since we started Liberty Skate, we’ve been members of a non-profit organization called 1% For The Planet. This is a group of like-minded companies who all have committed to donate at least 1% of yearly revenue to a charity. We have chosen to support the National Forest Foundation.

For every dollar we donate, it pays to purchase and plant one tree in a National Forest that was damaged by wildfires. That is, for every dollar you spend with us we will donate at least 1% of the money to the National Forest Foundation. As Liberty Skate grows, so do our National Forests. The non-direct benefits of trees are too many to list, but some of the large ones are:

• Each average-sized tree provides an estimated $7 savings in annual environmental benefits, including energy conservation and reduced pollution.
• The amount of oxygen produced by an acre of trees per year equals the amount consumed by 18 people annually.
• One tree produces nearly 260 pounds of oxygen each year.
• One acre of trees removes up to 2.6 tons of carbon dioxide each year.
• One tree can absorb as much carbon in a year as a car produces while driving 26,000 miles.
• Tree roots stabilize soil and prevent erosion.
• And the list goes on…
