We thought long and hard about the best way to give back to the earth and community with this business and we decided a couple things. Number one, we thought it would be awesome to be able leave the earth better off than when we started the business. So the idea goes like this… We think that having a business that uses resources should give more than it takes - this is a no brainer to us. So we partnered with 1% To The Planet an internationally recognized charity that certifies its members give at least 1% of their revenue to a charity that benefits the environment of the earth. Since we primarily use wood to manufacture our quarter pipes, mini ramp half pipes, and grind boxes, we decided that we should plant trees and where else is better than the National Forest. For every dollar we donate, it pays to purchase and plant one tree in a National Forest that was damaged by wildfires. That is, for every dollar you spend with us we will donate at least 1% of the money to American Forests As Liberty Skate grows, so do our National Forests. The non-direct benefits of trees are too many to list, but some of the large ones are:

• Each average-sized tree provides an estimated $7 savings in annual environmental benefits, including energy conservation and reduced pollution.
• The amount of oxygen produced by an acre of trees per year equals the amount consumed by 18 people annually.
• One tree produces nearly 260 pounds of oxygen each year.
• One acre of trees removes up to 2.6 tons of carbon dioxide each year.
• One tree can absorb as much carbon in a year as a car produces while driving 26,000 miles.
• Tree roots stabilize soil and prevent erosion.
• And the list goes on…

So for every product you buy, not only are we replacing the wood we used, but actually increasing the amount of it on the earth.

Bottom line – we are planting exponentially more trees than we are using.
